The Slap that Changed the career of the greatest Showman

There might be a lot of pressure and high expectations when you're a member of a famous film family. Because of your family history, the public and the industry may have preconceived notions about your talent and potential and may closely watch your every action.

On the one hand, being from a well-known family may open doors and present chances that might not have been there otherwise. To live up to the family legacy and attain comparable levels of achievement, though, can also lead to feelings of pressure. Family members may also have high expectations for one another, thus this pressure may come from both the inside and the outside.

Raj Kapoor probably dealt with a lot of strain during his career because he was a successful and well-known personality in the film business. He was known for taking chances and pushing limits with his movies, which might have added to the pressure to keep coming up with new ideas and making hit movies.

We Know Raj Kapoor was the greatest showman in Indian Film Industry. But what most people do not know is when Raj Kapoor was slapped by Kidar Sharma at the beginning of his career. Raj Kapoor was working as an assistant to Kidar Sharma as a clapper boy.

Raj Kapoor used to meticulously comb his hair before bending his face slightly forward over the clapperboard to create a great close-up. One day, an actor's beard got struck between a clapperboard and a stick after Raj Kapoor stepped too far in front of him. After witnessing everything, Kidar Sharma gave Raj Kapoor a hard slap. Raj Kapoor left silently because he was aware that he had made a mistake.

Kidar Sharma raised that Raj Kapoor does not work behind the camera, but in front of the camera and that is why he cast him opposite 14 years old Baby Mumtaz in Neel Kamal, whom we popularly call Madhubala Now after the famous actress and the first recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke award winner Devika Rani changed her to Madhubala. Interestingly Dilip Kumar was also given a name by Devika Rani.

Raj Kapoor was compelled to uphold a particular reputation as a public figure. Remember he is the greatest showman in the Indian Film industry. He faced tremendous strains and pressures due to the needs and expectations of his supporters, opponents and colleagues in the industry. People could frequently draw parallels between the son and their parent, expecting them to possess the same degree of aptitude, achievement, and charisma. This might be difficult since they could feel like they are always in their parents' wake.

Notwithstanding these difficulties, Raj Kapoor continued to be a well-liked and significant character in Indian films. His influence on the business is still felt today, and future actors and filmmakers are constantly motivated by his legacy.

Being a member of a famous family can also bring about comparisons and criticism from the general public and the media. Any errors or failures could be highlighted and subjected to close examination, which can be difficult for anyone to manage.
