Gumnaam-1965

The film is a loosely-inspired adaptation of the 1939 mystery novel And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.
Eight people are trapped on an island when their plane abandons them. They find a large mansion whose butler is expecting them. Then one by one, they die.
The film came to wider attention in the English-speaking world when its opening song “ “Jaan Pechaan Ho”" (a Hindi-Urdu phrase roughly translated as "we should get to know each other") was included in the opening credits of Ghost World and used in the 2011 commercial The Date for Heineken. The song was sung by Bollywood music legend Mohammed Rafi. The lead dancer in the song as shot in the film was Laxmi Chhaya  The psychedelic choreography was done by Herman Benjamin, who also sang the song as picturised in the film.

The film was also a musical hit with songs like Gumnaam Hai Koi, Hum Kaale Hain To kya hua, Jaan pechaan ho, Gham Chhodke Manaao Rang rali 

 2. Hamraaz- 1967

Hamraaz is a 1967 Hindi film of the suspense thriller genre, produced and directed by B. R. Chopra, and written by Akhtar ul Iman. The film stars Sunil Dutt, Raaj Kumar, Mumtaz, Vimi, Sarika, Madan Puri, Iftekhar, Bal Shaitan starts off with Amy (Kalki Koechlin), who is mentally disturbed and deeply affected by the attempted suicide and eventual institutionalisation of her mother, Saira. She moves from Los Angeles to Mumbai, where she meets KC (Gulshan Devaiya) at a party her parents forcefully take her to. KC introduces her to his gang – Dash (Shiv Panditt), Zubin (Neil Bhoopalam) and Tanya (Kirti Kulhari). They lead a directionless life, having fun, drinking, using drugs and driving around in a Hummer. On one such occasion, they start racing a random car and win. In the celebration rush, they run over two people riding on a scooter, killing them instantly.
They quickly leave the spot but are easily traced down by a slimy cop, Inspector Malwankar (Rajkummar Rao), who demands ₹ 2,500,000 to drop the case. Dash tells them about a friend (Rajat Barmecha) who faked his own brother's kidnapping and extracted ₹ 2 million from his own parents. After Amy volunteers to be the kidnapping victim, they hatch a plan. Upon receiving the ransom call, Amy's father, contrary to their expectations immediately approaches Police Commissioner (Pavan Malhotra) for help. The Police Commissioner assigns an upright cop Arvind Mathur (Rajeev Khandelwal) to solve the case unofficially, as he is on suspension after throwing a corporator from the first floor of his own house for allegedly beating up a woman. Inspector Mathur is shown to be having a disturbed married life and nearly divorces his wife.raj Sahni, Jeevan and Helen. The film's music is by Ravi, while the lyrics were penned by Sahir Ludhianvi. The film was a super hit at box office.
Kumar is a well-known stage actor in Bombay. While on a trip to scenic Darjeeling, he meets with and falls in love with, Meena, the only daughter of wealthy military contractor, Verma. Shortly thereafter Kumar and Meena get married and return home to Bombay. Four years later Meena's dad passes away after telling her something that he had hidden from her for four years. Then a year later, Kumar notices that Meena does not accompany him to the stage anymore, and excuses herself on the pretext of being ill. Shortly thereafter, Meena gets killed, the Police assign this case of Inspector Ashok who starts his investigation - which will reveal that Meena was meeting secretly with Captain Mahendra; had been married to Captain Rajesh, and has a daughter by the name of Sarika in an orphanage. All Ashok knows is that the primary suspect is a bearded man by the name of S.N. Sinha who was lurking near Meena's residence on the night of the murder,

                                                                        3. Mahal- 1949
Mahal was directed by Kamal Amrohi  starring Ashok Kumar and madhubala  . It was India's first reincarnation thriller film. The film was the third highest-grossing film of 1949 and its leading lady, Madhubala became a superstar overnight.
The story is about a man Shankar who moves into an old n abandoned palace. Upon his visit to the palace, he is greeted by the gardener who tells him that the palace was inhabited by a couple forty years back and that the couple died one aft another cos of their intense love. Shankar is astonished when he sees the photo of the old owner which looks exactly like him. At night time Shankar follows a woman singing n the moment he approaches, she disappears. He tells this to his friend but the friend warms him to stay away from the palace. The ghost appears again but this time she warns the friend to not come between Shankar n her. Shankar slowly gets drawn towards the ghost n the palace his insanity becomes questionable aft his marriage.

 4.Bees Saal Baad-1962

 (Bees saal Baad is a 1962 Indian Hindi-language psychological thriller film. It was produced by Hemant Kumar, who also composed the music and sang some of the songs. The film marks the directorial debut of Biren Nag, and stars Biswajeet, Waheeda Rehman, Madan Puri, Sajjan and Asit Sen.: The film is a loose adaptation of the Bengali hit thriller Jighansa (1951), which was based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles as well as loosely based on Hemendra Kumar Roy's novel Nishithini Bivishika.[1] The film topped the box office chart in 1962, becoming a "super hit."[2] The film became very popular for the song "Kahin Deep Jale", sung by Lata Mangeshkar and written by Shakeel Badayuni for which they won Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer and Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist respectively. 

                                           

  5. Who Kaun Thi -1964

Woh Kaun Thi? (English: Who Was She?) is a 1964 Indian Hindi-language black-and-white psychological mystery thriller film directed by Raj Khosla, starring Sadhana, Manoj Kumar and Prem Chopra. Though the screenplay was written by Dhruva Chatterjee, parts were later rewritten, wherein Manoj Kumar took an active role. Music by Madan Mohan was the asset of this movie. The film became a hit at the box office.[1] Its success had Khosla directing Sadhana in two more suspense thrillers: Mera Saaya (1966) and Anita (1967).
One stormy night, doctor offers a ride to a ghostly woman he meets on the side of the road. Later, he discovers his intended bride is identical in appearance to the ghost. Who was she and why does she haunt him?

6 Ittefaq 1967
Ittefaq is a 1969 Indian suspense thriller film produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by his brother Yash Chopra. The film stars Rajesh Khanna in the lead with Nanda, Bindu, Madan Puri and Iftekhar playing supporting roles and has music by Salil Chowdhury. The film became a "semi-hit" at the box office.[2] The movie is a remake of 1965 American movie Signpost to Murder,[3] which had earlier been adapted into a Gujarati drama Dhummas, starring Sarita Joshi.
It was the fourth Bollywood film (after Naujawan, Munna and Kanoon) that did not have any songs in it. What was remarkable was that a previous production from the same production house, i.e. B.R.Films, namely Kanoon, made in 1960, was also a song-less film and with the same leading lady Nanda. Another common feature of both Kanoon and Ittefaq was that in both these song-less films Salil Chowdhary was the Music Director.[4] This film is counted among the 17 consecutive hit films starring Rajesh Khanna in lead role between 1969 and 1971, by including the two multi starrer films Marayada and Andaz to the 15 consecutive solo hits he gave from 1969 to 1971.[5] This is also the last film Yash Chopra would direct for his brother before branching out to form his own production company Yash Raj Films

7. Ek Ruka Hua Faisla
Ek Ruka hua faisla..is a 1986 Indian Bollywood courtroom drama film, directed by Basu Chatterjee. It is a remake of the Golden Bear winning American motion picture 12 Angry man.  The story begins in a courtroom where a teenage boy from a city slum is on trial for stabbing his father to death.  Final closing arguments have been presented, and the judge then instructs the jury to decide whether the boy is guilty of murder, which carries a mandatory death sentence. Once inside the Jury discussion room, it is immediately apparent that all jurors with the sole exception of Juror Number 8 (K.K. Raina) have already decided that the boy is guilty, and that they plan to return their verdict quickly, without taking time for discussion. His vote annoys the other jurors.
The rest of the film centers around the jury's difficulty in reaching a unanimous verdict. While several of the jurors harbor personal prejudices, Juror 8 maintains that the evidence presented in the case is circumstantial, and that the boy deserves a fair deliberation. He calls into question the accuracy and reliability of the only two witnesses to the murder, the rarity of the murder weapon (a common pocketknife, of which he has an identical copy), and the overall questionable circumstances (including the fact that an elevated train was passing by at the time of the murder). He further argues that he cannot in good conscience vote "guilty" when he feels there is reasonable doubt of the boy's guilt and slowly convinces each juror about the same by his logical findings around each piece of evidence.

  8. Ugly 2013
Ugly is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language thriller film written, co-produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap. Jointly produced by Phantom Films and DAR Motion Pictures, the film stars Rahul Bhat, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vineet Kumar Singh, Girish Kulkarni, Ronit Roy, Surveen Chawla and Anshika Shrivastava in the lead roles. It also features TV actor Abir Goswami in his last film appearance before his death in 2013. Told in the course of a week, Ugly follows the story of a struggling actor Rahul Varshney (Bhat), whose daughter Kali (Shrivastava) disappears, and the events that follow.

The film's background score and music were composed by Brian McOmber and G. V. Prakash Kumar respectively, while Gaurav Solanki wrote the lyrics. Nikos Andritsakis served as the film's cinematographer and Aarti Bajaj was its editor. Kashyap had the idea for the film since 2006 and started writing the script after talking to one of his friends, who was in the Special Task Force, Lucknow, about kidnapping cases. He chose actors who could connect with the characters in the film.

Ugly premiered in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. It was also screened at the 2014 New York Indian Film Festival, the third Ladakh International Film Festival and the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. The digital poster of the film was released on 8 May 2013. The circumstances that led to the birth of Kali were separately made as short film, titled Kali Katha, and was released in YouTube on 23 December 2014. The film was theatrically released on 26 December 2014 after a two-year delay due to Kashyap's refusal to carry static anti-smoking warnings in the film. He had filed a case in court, but ultimately lost it. Upon release, the film received critical acclaim and was a commercial success, grossing over ₹6.24 crore (US$870,000) worldwide.

  9.Manorama Six Feet Under (2007)
Manorama Six Feet Under is a 2007 Indian thriller film directed and co-written by Navdeep Singh. The film features Abhay Deol, Raima Sen and Gul Panag in the lead roles. The film released on 21 September 2007. It follows an amateur detective in a small sleepy town from Rajasthan who finds himself caught in a web of lies, deceit and murder. The movie is based on classic American neo-noir film, Chinatown (1974) directed by Roman Polanski, with the basic premise being similar to the original, despite obvious changes in the representation of characters and some key plot points.[1] The makers of Manorama Six Feet Under acknowledged the inspiration from the original by playing the sequence where Jack Nicholson's character gets his nose slashed on the main character's (Satyaveer) television

 Shaitan  is a 2011 Indian black comedy crime thriller film directed by Bejoy Nambiar starring Rajeev Khandelwal, Kalki Koechlin, Gulshan Devaiya, Shiv Panditt, Neil Bhoopalam, Kirti Kulhari, Rajit Kapoor, Pawan Malhotra and Rajkummar Rao. The film was released on 10 June 2011
