Nepotism In Bollywood
Nepotism In Bollywood.
What is Nepotism?
The dictionary meaning of nepotism is ‘the practice among those with power or influence of favouring relatives or friends,
especially by giving them jobs’
After the death of Sushant
Singh Rajput who allegedly died of suicide in his flat, the Bollywood is
reeling under a heated debate between the haves and have-nots. This heated debate persists;
however, about the characterization of the content is driven by those who
support it and those who blatantly oppose it.
Now the supporter of this
lobby who supports the very existence of a Bollywood mafia is those who cast
aspersions on the character of those, who is a misfit, not because of talent
but of birth. They run the industry through hardcore criminals and paid
media through unqualified journalists.
Having said one of such
stupid journalists named Rajeev Masand who called Sushant Singh Rajput a dud and
skirt chaser. The reason is obvious. There is this paid media who favours the unprincipled
practice of favouring those who are born with a golden spoon in their mouth.
I would cite certain examples
to explain my point. There is a son of a famous actor, who is currently seen in
a series of movies playing deaf and dumb. Such roles are written for these
really dumb actors so that the very existence of these actors is not jeopardized.
You scratch my back and I will scratch yours so that our future is safeguarded.
We have highly talented actors and actresses who are self-made because of the
enormous talent that is pushed to the wall and eliminated, termed wrathful to
become mad or forced to suicide. Divya Bharti, Sri-Devi, Parveen Babi. Silk
Smitha, Raj Kiran, Great Guru Dutt, or Sushant Singh Rajput.
Nepotism in Bollywood is as old as the industry itself and is not a new
phenomenon. ... It only became a burning topic of debate recently when Bollywood Actress
Kangana Ranaut labelled filmmaker Karan Johar the 'flag bearer of nepotism' in an interview
just after her interaction with Karan Johar in the laters chat show “Koffee
with Karan”.
You see it continuously that such programs and award
functions in a way to insult the outsiders who are trying their best to
showcase their enormous talent. As it is being said that Talent hits a target
no one else can hit. To cope with this inferiority complex many paid media is
giving unprecedented coverage the greatest stupidity. What did Taimur eat-in
breakfast, what did he eat in lunch, who
was the one who hugged Taimur is the page 3 content to be sold like a hot
cake.
The good thing is that there
is a vast majority now who are vehemently opposing the opportunistic lobby as
the seed of nepotism has assumed the alarming proportion to become a gigantic tree.
” A.R. Rahman once said in an interview that he’s quite convinced there’s a “gang” in Bollywood that has been
working against him.
Shekhar Kapur in a counter response wrote “You know what your problem is @arrahman? You went and got #Oscars. An Oscar is the kiss of death in Bollywood. It proves you have more talent than Bollywood can handle.
Fellow Oscar winner Resul
Pookutty echoed the same sentiments and said
If the ‘gang’ can keep a Rahman out of Bollywood, then god save the lesser mortals. Award-winning editor and writer Apurva Asrani agrees. He says that if the Who’s Who of the Indian film industry can be subjected to such things, then he shudders to think what would happen to others. Similar sentiments were shared by comedian Asrani, Mira Rajput, Huma Qureshi, Kangna Ranaut, and Shekhar Suman.
